The Scapegoat and The Culprit

The Scapegoat

The Culprit
Much of the success of the fascist takeover comes from the acknowledgement of a simple truth: life has gotten harder in the last 50 years for many members of our working class in this country. Wages have remained largely stagnant, often not meeting rates of inflation. The costs of our healthcare is wildly expensive, and can easily bankrupt an average working family when crisis hits. The astronomical rise in the cost of college forces young people to take out massive loans that they are then saddled with for the rest of their lives. Housing has become unaffordable in many places for an average working person. Childcare is a cost burden that many working families can barely afford.
Everything is commodified. And the cost of the commodities we need to live have far outpaced the wages we earn as working people.
Meanwhile, the wealth of the billionaire class has grown exponentially in the last several decades. No where in the world is the exploitative mismatch between the working class and the billionaire class more pronounced than it is in the United States of America, where the most rapacious form of capitalism is practiced.
And it is in this environment, that the fascist billionaire class has placed blame at the feet of our immigrant brothers and sisters, making them responsible for the declining living standards that many Americans are experiencing. They have scapegoated immigrants as the source of the problems of working people, and they have promised the restoration of an America for "true Americans". They have created the conditions of a flourishing moment for White supremacy.
And it is in this environment that we say: Immigrants are NOT the problem! Billionaires are the problem! Look up and not down when placing blame for the declining living standards of working people. Hold those in the billionaire class accountable for hoarding the wealth that our working class creates. DO NOT allow the billionaire class to scapegoat our fellow members of the working class for their greed.
